Labor Epidural and Intrathecal Policy

*All patients must watch an epidural video for informed consent before your epidural can be given in labor.  The video can be viewed in the childbirth class or in the New Beginnings Birthing Center at your convenience.

Fee Schedule

Charges for Intrathecal injections (which may be repeated one time if necessary) and Epidural infusions are calculated using the American Society of Anesthesiologists Relative Value Scale with modifiers, including base rate and time unit charges.

Private Insurance Patients

All patients must notify the Anesthesia Department, that they might request an Epidural for  their labor and to verify insurance coverage.  This may be done at any time, but all patients must have their insurance benefits and coverage verified prior to delivery and admission.  Patients failing to pre-certify will be considered as self pay.
