Visitation hours are from 6:30 am - 7 pm. Visiting hours may be postponed or cancelled in the event of an emergency or during certain procedures being performed in the unit, so please call ahead. Following the pandemic, Jackson Purchase Medical Center has moved to a more open visitation enviornment. As always, visiting hours are arranged according to the patient’s condition and/or family needs and vary by department. All visitors of the hospital must have their temperature checked upon arrival and must be free of communicable diseases and respect the hospital’s infection control policies.
ER patients may have one visitor in the room at a time. Visitors may exchange out. Flexibility is allowed for children and special situations.
Labor & Delivery
Expecting moms may have two support individuals present in the OB and up to two visitors at a time in the room after delivery. No visitors under the age of 12 will be allowed.
Med/Surg & Stepdown
Up to two visitors will be allowed in a patient's room. Lobbies remained closed, and overnight visitation is allowed for one support person.
Critical Care Unit
Due to the condition and nature of illness of the patients, visiting must be restricted in critical care. Only one visitor will be allowed in a patient's room at a time for 15 minutes during the times below, unless granted permission in special circumstances. Children under the age of 16, supervised by an adult family member, are permitted to visit patients in the CCU under the discretion of the physician and the nurse. In some cases, children can be traumatized by the circumstances/procedures witnessed in the CCU, so we ask that you properly prepare your child for such an experience. Ministers may visit at any time at the discretion of the nursing staff.
